So what is the Costa Blanca?

The Costa Blanca - meaning "White Coast" in Spanish - is the name of the coastline stretching more than 200 kilometres from north to south, from Denia to Pilar de la Horadada. It is an incredibly popular holiday destination for tourists from all over the world, thanks to its wonderful weather and sandy beaches.

Cities and beaches on the Costa Blanca

- Denia, Alicante, Benidorm, Calpe, Javea, Torrevieja - you probably already know about one of these places, because you have a plane ticket and accommodation booked.

Each of these settlements has beautiful promenades, inviting you to stroll barefoot, squinting from the sun and breathing in that special scent of the sea.

Is it possible to visit these beaches in the whole holiday?

Of course, all these cities are not so far from each other. For example, you can get from Alicante to Benidorm in 40-50 minutes if you go north. And if you go south, in 40 minutes you can arrive in Torrevieja. If you decide to do without a rental car, you can use the services of ordering a transfer / taxi or take a bus, which is also not bad.

Whether you are on the beach of any town or village, it is important to follow some rules. You don't want to think about rules on holiday, that's understandable, but you don't want to feel uncomfortable on holiday or harm your health, do you?

- Along with vitamin D, which contributes to our good mood, the sun can also give us dangerous burns, so it's important not to be in the open sun between 12pm and 3pm, as this is the most dangerous time.

The best time to sunbathe is between 9am and 11am. Or, if you don't like to get up early in the morning, after 4pm. Always use sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 if you are in the city and at least 50 if you are at the beach.

- It is not a good idea to spend long periods of time in the sun without a hat. This is a well-known fact and should not be ignored.

- If your skin is susceptible to the sun's rays and burns quickly, wear a T-shirt or light sweatshirt with sleeves to cover your shoulders. Many people swim like this and feel safe from the direct rays of the sun.

- To avoid trouble when swimming, you should pay attention to the color of the flag on the beach. The weather on the Costa Blanca is almost always perfect for a summer holiday, but you should still be aware that a green flag means that swimming is allowed, a yellow flag means that swimming should be done with caution (there are many reasons for this, such as strong waves or temporary currents) and a red flag means that swimming is forbidden (there may be reasons for this too, which are not always known to us).Beach holidays on the Alicante coast

The beaches of the Costa Blanca are not just for sunbathing

- If you get bored on the beach, there are masseurs who occasionally stroll along the beach looking for customers. Also, in search of customers, there are sellers of things needed on the beach: towels, bedspreads, sunglasses, hats, etc. The prices are quite reasonable.

- Almost all beaches on the Costa Blanca (except for the wild ones) are equipped with the necessary facilities: showers, toilets, hire of sunbeds and umbrellas. But they are available only in the summer season. So if you have chosen a slightly different time for your holiday, be prepared that they may not be available.

- If you're hungry and haven't brought food with you, take a look around, there are usually both small and large café-bars on the beaches, which are called "Chiringuito" here. You can have a snack and a cold drink.

Pleasant memories, a positive charge of emotions, and of course a stunning tan will give you a holiday spent on the sea coast of Costa Blanca.

Don't hesitate! And have a good holiday!
