When booking a car in Heraklion, you don't need to pay the full rental cost in advance. You can book your preferred car online and pay the main balance when you collect the vehicle at the city office.

To confirm your booking, you only need to pay 7–10% of the total rental cost online. The remaining balance is payable when you collect the car. If your plans change, cancel your booking at least 48 hours before the rental starts and we'll refund your prepayment in full. For later cancellations, only the prepayment amount is non-refundable, and you won't have to pay the full rental cost.

You don't necessarily have to return the car where your journey began: a one-way rental with drop-off in another town on Crete is available on selected routes. For example, you could start your trip in Heraklion and finish at Chania Airport, if this option is available for your chosen car.
